Joao’s background

Joao’s experience in life sciences and biotech brings specialist sector expertise to support data and insight projects at ramarketing. As Bio Sector Lead, Joao contributes actively to the successful delivery of projects through technical know-how, content review, messaging insights, and market knowledge to ensure our work is high quality, industry-specific, and world-class.

Joao has over 15 years of experience in the biomedical sector in the US, UK, and EU. He is a former medical doctor and a Harvard-trained scientist, with a Ph.D. in Molecular Medicine and Oncology. Joao developed a background in commercial life sciences and business strategy at L.E.K. Consulting (London), and subsequently as Associate Medical Director, Global Strategy, at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, a biotech developing transformative medicines for rare diseases.

Before joining ramarketing, Joao held the position of Principal at a Life Sciences company developing AI tools for the biopharma industry and was a consultant at a VC Biotech based in London.
